Advantage Multi is a once a month topical application with a combination of parasiticide (moxidectin) and insecticide (imidacloprid). It is mainly used to prevent heartworm and to treat and stop the growth of flea infestations, roundworms, whipworms and hookworms. To get Advantage Multi Dog, you need to produce prescription from your vet. For dogs more than 7 weeks of age and weighing at least 3 lbs, it is the right flea fighting medicine.

How it works
Moxidectin, one of the active ingredients is used to prevent and control the growth of heartworms as well as intestinal worms by disrupting nerve transmission which results in the paralysis and death of the parasite. Another active ingredient imidacloprid, effectively acts on the nervous system of the flea causing paralysis which results into its death.
Discuss with vet before you administer it
Do not just simply buy it over the counter and start administering it. Discuss with your vet in advance and tell him if your pet is breeding, pregnant or lactating. Avoid using this medicine on the dogs allergic to Advantage Multi or any of the ingredients present in the medicine – imidacloprid (Advantage, K9 Advantix) or moxidectin (ProHeart).
